Amira Abujbara is a writer and filmmaker who uses storytelling to explore her cultures and raise questions about morality and power. She is a Doha Film Institute grant recipient and in pre-production for the short film, Abu Fanoos, set in Qatar. She is also the on-screen journalist for We Are Still Here, a documentary about her mother’s Alaska Native village that broadcast internationally in 2018. Her parents, who wished her to be rooted in both cultures, raised her between Qatari Palestinian family in Qatar and Dena’ina family in Alaska. Amira is currently based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
